The Panniers
I've got bright yellow Ortleib Frontroller and Backroller classics.  These are deeply awesome and sturdy bags.

For the handlebar, I splurged and bought the insanely great Arkel Big Bar Bag

The Rest of It:

Here's what it all looks like ready to put onto the bike.  I weighed the individual panniers and it turns out the rear panniers weigh about 13 pounds each.  The front panniers weigh 7 pounds a piece and the handlebar bag weighs 5 pounds.  That brings us to a grand total of right around 45 pounds for all of the bike gear.  Tack on the helmet, shoes, pump and it comes to just under 50 pounds.  Here's how I'm going to get it onto the plane:

The air carrier I'm taking, Air Canada, has a weight requirement of 50 pounds and a size requirement of a total of 62 inches (the total length of the 3 dimensions of the bag).  That duffel is both slightly bigger and slightly heavier than the requirements, so I may have to carry on more luggage to bring it into compliance (or pay $100).

Here are the content of the each of the panniers:

Handlebar Bag: From left to right we've got my cold weather riding gloves, tons of lip balm, bandanna, extra helmet liner, sunglasses, pens, compass, iPhone USB cable, regular riding gloves, waterproof map holder, USB thumb drives, iPhone charger, headphones, handlebar bag rain cover, trip totems and a waterproof bag for passport and wallet.

First Front Pannier: From left to right is my slumberjack sleeping pad, kryptonite lock, leatherman tool, LED flashlight, spare batteries, Petzl headlamp, extra shoelaces, fastening straps, elastic string, plastic baggies,  first-aid kit, shamwow, a quarter of a sponge and a camp towel.

Second Front Pannier: From left to right we've got my Novara rain jacket, rain shoe covers, wool cap,  fleece pullover, warm weather riding pants, cable for locking up the bike, two pairs of Pearl Izumi loose riding shorts, two pairs of synthetic fabric undies, Pearl Izumi light riding jacket, two synthetic fabric riding shirts, two pairs of padded shorts liners, some bike maps of Germany and the Danube and two pairs of Smartwool riding socks.  Not pictured is one pair of warm weather wool socks.

First Rear Pannier: From left to right is two spare inner tubes, chain lube, extra brakes and extra cleats, tire patch kit, extra length of chain, extra bolts and zip ties, pedal wrench, Allen wrench, spoke wrench, tire levers, Park multi-tool (with a chain tool on it), another Allen wrench, rain fly, tool kit sack, patch kit for inflatable sleeping pad, tire boots, REI Half-dome 2 person tent, sleeping bag (in an REI compression stuff sack) and a groundpad for the tent.

Second Rear Pannier: From left to right we've got the big duffel, power cable for my laptop, camera charger, Acer Aspire One netbook, computer case, shoe bag, Ex Oficio Caravan shoes, Ex Oficio slacks (with a Patagonia belt), Buzz Off hiking socks, tolietry case and an Ex Oficio collared shirt.

And that's it!  I'll be interested in comparing this inventory with what I actually end up the trip with.
